Like [livejournal.com profile] gwyn_r I thought I'd comment here.

I've just recently been pointed to this after being reminded of what I loved of Pros via the vid rec of "A Fire is Burning" in [livejournal.com profile] crack_van. I'm one of those old fans whose involvement predated widespread internet availability.. it was all zines and the circuit archive in those days. Ah, memories. :)

Anyway, I wanted to say thank you for this: you've managed to present succinctly just what it is I love about Pros, and remind me of moments and incidents in the show I'd all but forgotten. Between this and the songvid, a long-dormant love for the show has been rekindled.

One point that did spring to mind re: Bodie's relationships with women: although he seems philisophical at the end of Man Without A Past when Claire dumps him, when she's injured in the bomb blast and lying wounded in hospital, his rage and grief belie his "remoreseless disregard". Maybe Bodie's compartmentalised his relationships so he can experience them in the moment but they're not a factor in the long term? Given his background and the past with Marikka in Fall Girl, that would make sense.

Oh, I remember reading -- can't remember where -- from a fan who'd watched episodes with someone who could lip read, that some of the things said off-mike were hilarious. Unfortunately, no specifics were mentioned. ;)

Thanks for this again. I think I'm going to enjoy this revival. :)
