I think in the anime, the thing that lacked between Lina and Gourry was the sexual tension to begin with. I didn't see it the first time around. I saw some the second time after I'd become a Lina/Gourry fan. When I enter a new series, I do my best to make my own judgments regarding pairings and things like that and not go off of what other people like. I knew that Lina/Gourry was there, but the series was going to have to sell me on it and they did. I got the Lina/Gourry friendship right from the start.
