To the OP: You pointed out a few things about their relationship that had slipped my mind--and I'm very grateful to you for mentioning them. :) This "manifesto" was very thought out, nicely written and detailed, so kudos to that. The only mistake I could detect was the misspelling of Cid's name (I think it's Cidolfus? It's probably different in the JP version, undoubtedly).
