As BtVS Season 7 went along, I was so disappointed that the potential Giles/Anya pairing was completely dropped. They had so many wonderful moments together, as you pointed out in your essay. I can understand why Joss decided they couldn't continue it, but I'll always be sorry we didn't get to see it!
