Fandom: Saw
Pairing: John Kramer AKA Jigsaw/Zep Hindle
Spoilers: Contains plot and ending details for the Saw films I-IV
Disclaimer: These characters belong to the writers, filmmakers etc. John and Zep are not mine – if they were, they’d be lovers in canon!
Word Count: 2, 975 (excluding long quotations and recommendations list)
Notes: Source material for this essay is mostly drawn from the first Saw movie and the online comic Saw: Rebirth, with references to the other Saw movies when needed. Heartfelt thanks and love to [livejournal.com profile] cassiejo, who got me into the Saw fandom and this pairing, and who gave me insight into why the pairing works.

Spoilers: All three Pirates of the Caribbean films.
Author's Note: I'm not sure if I always did the best job clarifying what was text and what was my interpretation of the subtext, but I had already almost maxed out the word limit and had to cut back.
Thanks to: [livejournal.com profile] siridian for scanning pages from Bring Me that Horizon: The Making of Pirates of the Caribbean, from which some of the quotes are taken; and One Day's Head Start, for excerpts from the DVD commentary and the writers' online postings.

Title: Shepherd Me As Your Heart Commands
Author: Angelica Albina/[livejournal.com profile] mypaleangel
Fandom: The Da Vinci Code
Pairing: Silas/Bishop Manuel Aringarosa
Spoilers: Contains plot and ending details for the Da Vinci Code novel and possibly for the film
Disclaimer: I don’t own these boys, they belong to Mr. Brown over there. I’m just borrowing them for a little while.
Word Count: 3,339 (excluding long quotations and recommendations list)
Notes: When I refer to canon in this essay, I will mostly be referring to the book, Dan Brown’s novel The Da Vinci Code. The movie of this book has some major plot differences to the novel, and though I may make mention of it from time to time when it is relevant, I consider the film a secondary source to the book’s primary text. Many thanks to everyone who contributed their support and wisdom, especially [livejournal.com profile] blue_nbeautiful, [livejournal.com profile] cassiejo and [livejournal.com profile] girl4edwards04.

Title: Arthur and Lancelot, or The Armor Factor in Action
Author: Ashley/[livejournal.com profile] sasha_b
Fandom: King Arthur (2004 Film)
Pairing: Arthur Castus and Lancelot
Spoilers: For the whole film.
Word Count: 4800, counting coding.
Warnings: There's "language" in this essay.

Notes: This manifesto is based on the pairing of Arthur and Lancelot as portrayed by Clive Owen and Ioan Gruffudd, respectively. It is not legend based.
Feedback would be love.

Title: An Easy Fit
Author: [profile] shadowkittykat_
Fandom: Harry
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Neville Longbottom
Spoilers: Significant through 5th, minor for 6th book. Reference to movie 4.
Disclaimer: I'm way too tall and way too young to be the glorious JKR.

I wrote this essay a while ago, meaning to post it eventually. Well, now I've finally got around to doing it.  I wrote this mostly because it seems, at least in this fandom, that while there are loads of pairings that are hot-looking or sensational, there aren't very many that are feasible as an actual, healthy relationship in any real sense. This is one of the few, the proud, the realistic.

(Even if I still luff Snarry non-con slave-bond fics.)

Title: To the Stars
Author: [livejournal.com profile] juliejordan
Fandom: Titanic
Pairing: Jack Dawson/Rose DeWitt Buaker
Spoilers: Whole movie and, through links, deleted scenes
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine. And I'm so poor that sueing me would be completely pointless.
Warning: A little picture heavy (though most of the images are smallish). I got a bit carried away!

I normally go for pairings that are a little on the twisted side, but sometimes a bit of fluff never hurts! I guess I'm a bit of a soppy old romantic deep down, and I still have a big soft spot for what was one of my earliest OTPs.

Title: Yes They Do, Don't They
Author: a.j.
Fandom: The Philadelphia Story
Pairing: Tracy Lord-Haven/C.K. Dexter Haven/Mike Connor
Spoiler: Yes, I do like to spoil the movie. By talking through it.
Disclaimer: Well it would be difficult for me to own anything related to this movie/play, wouldn't it?
Warning: This manifesto rated "G" for "gangsta." For Free Month, and I'm sure you'll figure out why.

But of course, women like to romanticize about things. )

Title: "Give a Reason for Life" - A Lina/Gourry manifesto
Pairing Lina Inverse/Gourry Gabriev
Fandom: Slayers
Spoilers: The entire Slayers franchise to date. There's quite a bit of it! The big spoilers for those not familiar with the parts of the series not released in English are novels 7-15 and Slayers: Knight of Aqualord.
Note: As done by previous posters, parts of this manifesto will be linked back to my LiveJournal due to the breaking of the character-limit count for posts and because this manifesto went way over 5,000 words and I couldn't get it trimmed down.

Part I. Introduction to Slayers, the manifesto and acknowledgements )

From here, the manifesto is broken up into parts. Each part of the manifesto has a clickable index at the beginning so it's easier to read if you need to take a break and go beat up critters in WoW.

Part II: Character Introduction and Story Summary
Introduction of the characters and how their relationship has grown throughout the novels and manga.

Part III: Pairing Analysis and Fandom Resources
Discussing the arguments against Lina/Gourry, why the pairing works so well and fandom resources.
