Fandom: Superjail!

Pairing: The Warden/Lord Stingray

Warning: The following contains spoilers for the episode "Lord Stingray Crash Party.". So if you haven't seen it and don't want to be spoiled, don't read this.

I will be the first to admit that I love the following pairing out of my love for most Foe Yay pairings. But besides that, I will give my other reasons for loving this pairing from the show on Adult Swim, Superjail!

But first, the players in this pairing.

The Warden: The main character of the show itself and the one who runs Superjail! He’s been described as a deranged Willy Wonka and the description is fitting. Yet.. He does have a naïve side. The episode “Lord Stingray Crash Party” shows that very well.

Lord Stingray: A tyrannical ruler known for having minions, plundering things (such as space stations and presidents daughters according to him.) and taking what he wants. At this point I’m not sure if his stingray shaped head is suppose to be his real head, or if it’s a helmet. I lean towards it’s his head. But that’s a theory for another day.

So here are my reasons for loving this pairing. Some are fanon reasons and some canon.

1. Their relationship could be full of snark: Lord Stingray is not exactly the nicest person. Being a tyrannical ruler sort of tells a person that. He also seems to have a trigger hair temper. Those two things, mixed in with the fact that the Warden has locked him up in Superjail, this could lead to interesting and I’m sure less then kind conversations. Even in my own little fanon when they get together, Stingray is just as easily annoyed and sarcastic.

2. Warden was a fan boy: Since the first moment The Warden even saw Lord Stingray he was geeking out over how powerful he seemed (and his fashion sense.). He acted like he and Stingray were best friends, even when bits of Stringray’s true colors showed themselves a few times.

And when Stingray’s true plan comes out, the Warden obviously feels hurt over it. The following is a quote from the episode about Stingray…

Warden: How could I have been fooled by a fancy out fit and a bunch of sweet talk?

Sounds like a lot like a betrayed lover to me.

3. The fact that this pairing may have a small chance to happen in reality: To begin with, Stingray is still in the jail. Now an inmate rather then the ruler of it. And he has made a cameo in another episode. So more scenes between him and the Warden are possible.

And considering how often the show “Superjail!” itself is daring and crazy, it’s slightly possible that some form of this pairing may happen.

Will it? I seriously don’t know. But I can tell you I’d be one happy fan girl if it did.

YAY, support for this couple. And this is still like the only episode I've watched of this show simply because this Stingray character seemed fun and reminded me of the Monarch from Adult Swim's other show, "The Venture Brothers."
